Environmental effects on jellyfish occurrences 環境改變影響水母生態
Following a similar pattern to 2021, the number of jellyfish being reported has dropped significantly in June. This is likely due to the monsoon switching direction in the May/June period from a northerly to southerly direction, potentially pushing species from the coast of China away. This may bring in other species from different areas as was also seen last year during the summer months. There may be some unusual species to find. Keep looking for jellyfish during the summer months and tell the HKJP what you see!
跟2021年一樣，到了六月，目撃到水母的次數大幅下降，可能是因為季候風在五、六月改變方向，由北轉向南，或會將從中國海岸而來的水母吹走。同時，這也可能把其他水域而來的品種帶來香港水域，像去年夏季的情況一樣，因此可能會找到不太常見的品種。在接下來的夏日，記得繼續留意水母的出沒情況，並把你的發現告訴我們！
