Penestragania apicalis is a leafhopper (Cicadellidae, subfamily Iassinae) native to the Nearctic first confirmed to have spread to Europe in 2012 and soon found in Austria, France, Germany and Switzerland. It is monophagous on honeylocust, Gleditsia triacanthos. For more information see https://opendata.uni-halle.de/bitstream/1981185920/94181/1/cicadina_volume_13_245.pdf .
My observations of this species: https://www.inaturalist.org/observations?place_id=any&taxon_id=1205591&user_id=sascha_n&verifiable=any
on Gleditsia triacanthos [69], leaf underside
I noticed that all 3 nymphs I observed so far were sitting on a leaf's underside right next to the petiole/rhachis of the compund leaf and the 2 I observed on this day tried to flee onto and down that petiole
on Gleditsia triacanthos -74B-, leaf underside
Sadly I seem to have injured this one when I turned the leaf, as this looks like a new bleeding
