As a small child, I adopted the harvestmen and jumping spiders in my backyard, naming them and serving as their fierce protectors. I spent most of time my time outdoors, playing and exploring.

As I an adult, I lost my sense of wonder somewhere along the way, only to rediscover it after moving to Texas. The life in my little urban backyard begged to be explored. So I embarked on a journey to learn about Texas and the new plants and creatures around me.

In the summer of 2023, I became a certified North Texas Master Naturalist and a steward of small area of land in Palo Pinto county, Texas.

I've studied NCTx flora over the last several years and grown over 50 species of native species from seed. On this platform, I try to observe and document plants at various non-flowering stages, continuing through to their flowering stages. There seems to be a gap in documentation of our natives in the non-flowering and non-seeding stages. To help conserve our native plants and their unique DNA, we need be better able to identify plants at all life stages.

Due to the large variety of Fabaceae species present on the land in Palo Pinto, I've taken a deep dive into Texas legumes.
