I'm certainly not an expert in anything, but I've been interested in natural history since I can remember. I did a zoology degree early in the 21st century, but after many years of office jobs, I craved spending long periods in the natural world again. In July 2019 I resigned from my job and began exploring New Zealand full time, by house-sitting, camping, tramping and a lot of conservation volunteering. I had plans to travel overseas as well (I still have my ticket but that might be the most useless thing I own right now). Since that's not happening, I'm back for round 2! I only joined inaturalist in September 2020, but hoping to learn more names of the amazing lifeforms I'm seeing as I wander.
