Yolo Bypass Wildlife Area Bioblitz- September 7th

Hello everyone,
The California Academy of Sciences, together with the California Department of Fish and Wildlife, is hosting a bioblitz at the Yolo Bypass Wildlife Area on September 7th in support of California Biodiversity Day. I know it is short notice, but as the top observers in the area (and a few others I think might be interested), it would be amazing if you are available to join us and maybe help lead groups! We are meeting at 9 am (but open to an early birding group) and exploring until about noon.
We will be gathering at Parking Lot C.
Here is the Eventbrite link:

Feel free to share!
Let us know if you have any questions.
Thanks,

What is the age cut off for the "youth" eventbrite tickets? I have a teenage cousin that would probably like to come.

@madfox All ages are welcome, let's say youth are 19 and under. We'll clarify that on the Eventbrite @rebeccafay.

Unfortunately, I might not be available on that Saturday (I have commitments most Saturdays in the Fall). I won't have a definite schedule for another week, but I help coach youth soccer, so Saturdays tend to be very busy.

I'll definitely try to come and take the fledgling (i)naturalists in my family with me.

Wow- there are so many great events going on that day. Wondrous to contemplate how resonant this is with people. I’ll see if I can make it but my itinerary is looking like a ping pong game.

Yayz! Will attend with my 5 yearold if timing works out.

@kestrel Thank you, I wanted to make sure considering there was a "youth" option, which seems to end anywhere between 10 and 19 depending on who's selling the tickets. @tjtanker and I will be there.

Sorry I can't make it. I don't live nearby and only get to Yolo when visiting in-laws in Sacramento.

I can definitely volunteer! I'm in contact with Kim at the Dept. of Fish and Wildlife and I'm planning to be there!

Thank you for the invite! I will try to make it!

Is the birding squad leaving earlier than 9? I'll be driving from the city with my family, happy to get there earlier.

Posted by radrat over 4 years ago

@radrat We don't have an official birding group, but we'll extend the project hours so if folks want to get there early and make bird observations, they'll be included in the bioblitz!
