Oct 14 - Bio Lab 5

The species identified during Lab 5 were all different types of fungi in Mount Royal. Most of the fungi found were close to the bottom of trees and in wet areas because fungi are known to come together and form in moist habitats. The fungi identified included, the Genus, Antrodia which has a white colour and spreads on surfaces and is also a fruiting body. The second fungi species found were the Ascomycete Fungi, which is known to be a common yeast and can be used for baking. The third fungi were the Firerug Inkcap, which has an orange-brownish colour and is known to grow close to the bottom of trees. The fourth fungi are the Common Conecap, which has gills and was also first discovered around the 1700s. The fifth fungi was an Orange Pinwheel that is brown and has an umbrella-like cap, which grows mostly throughout the fall and summer.

Sep 15 Bio 111 - Lab 2

Most of the plant species our group has observed are very green and do not show any affect of the seasonal change approaching. Usually during early to mid September the leaves start to change colour from green to a yellowish/orange colour because of the transition from summer to autumn. Also, one of the small purple clovers in my observations kept changing its position when the sun would appear on it. As the sun was shinning on the clover, the clover would open up its petals and then when the clouds cleared over the sun, the clover would close up again.
