Two speckled rattlesnakes mating?
accidentally mowed over next to the pond :(
Tujunga Wash North
I put written tags underneath the snake and the lizard. I was walking down the path and saw movement.
A snake appeared to be curled at the edge of the vegetation. Before I could take a photo it retreated into the vegetation and I only managed this one photo that shows the back end of the snake. I didn't really notice the lizard til I looked at the photo and the lizard is in the spot the snake was in when I first saw it so I think the snake was about to eat this lizard. Guesses on the snake are coachwhip and rosy boa. I had an impression that it was darker than the back of it appears but it all happened so fast I can't be sure.
