This mangrove was found growing along the creek. I did not want to get off the track and take a close up of the plant as to not damage the roots that protrude from the surface of the soil.
This small shrub was found growing near some rocks in the path that zigzagged up towards the exit. I know this plant belongs to the genus Darwinia, but I am not sure what species it is. It contains flowers that grow terminally in clusters of 4. According to Les Robinson’s 2003 book “Field Guide to the Native Plants of Sydney”, I am leaning towards Darwinia procera as the flowers appear to have red bracteoles, which match with the description in the book.
