This is my record of the insect carnage in my garden, while using ACP traps to try locate the dreaded Diaphorina citri. The traps were set up by officials monitoring this citrus pest. The look-alike species turned out to be an undescribed, indigenous Diaphorina sp. and its host plant, Harpephyllum caffrum.
During the 10-day monitoring of my garden, spanning from the 13th to 24th February 2022, only one single Diaphorina sp. was trapped. However the ACP Trap killed numerous other beneficial insects.
