What

American Alligator (Alligator mississippiensis)

Observer

mbaechle

Date

October 14, 2018

Description

Appears to be a young American Alligator. It is believed to be a younger gator because of its relatively small size, as these alligators can grow to be quite large. These animals are fairly common throughout Florida, so that matched with its appearance leads to the conclusion that it is an American Alligator. Was seen at 2:42 PM on 10/14/18. The weather was sunny and slightly windy, at roughly 90 degrees F. Habitat was nearby a lake. The photos were taken with an iPhone 7 camera.
