Bright orange cap growing in a shelf-like structure. Yellow color spores on the underside of cap. White spore print. No stipe. White flesh with firm texture and pungent smell. Found growing on a dead oak tree.

An adult pair roosting in the nest with chicks. One adult was observed periodically leaving the nest and returning with prey items that were fed to its partner and chick. Around 5:00 PM EST, the adults were observed to briefly soar together and switch places, with the partner observed nesting all day going off to catch prey.
