Observations: vibrant yellow, large and almost heart-like petals, small/thin, yellow stigma and anthers, one flower
Weather: warm but still a little chilly, approximately 66°, sunny
Habitat: I saw this flowering plant at the San Joaquin Marsh in Irvine. It was growing near a stream, bordering the water. I took a picture because it was the only living flower of the plant. I didn’t see any other vibrant yellow flowers like this around the area.
Behavior: not much movement
Identification: I think this plant is a tall evening primose because of its vibrant yellow color, big & heart-shaped petals, and its stick-like floral organs.
