Single individual sighted soaring above and slightly west of our campsite in Pinnacles National Monument at an estimated elevation of ~1000'. It circled a couple of times before flying southwest. Coordinates are for our campsite.
Sometimes that lizard-shaped rock is actually a rock-shaded lizard.
The feather was very soft and obviously beautiful! Left it where I found it.
This Great Horned Owl was looking at me from its nest in Walmart. It seems like all those plastic owls attracted a real one.
I saw this last year between a highway and a frontage road and I do not know if it’s a native species or not.
