A jackal climbed up from the vegetation on one side of the road and came out with its head turned away from me, so with the momentum it stepped onto the road, barely 5m from me(!). It presently turned its head my way and, very much like a street dog (in fact, the only difference was that the jackal seemed a bit stockier), clumsily made an about-turn and rushed back down the side of the hill. This stopped a second individual which was about to repeat the same mistake. Such an amusing sighting!

The jackals started their dusk chorus at 1817 and it went on for 1-2 minutes. (They started around 40-50 seconds before this recording starts.) A few were very close, so probably the very same ones from earlier. Such wonderful sounds.
