A first sighting for me in my 20 year-old native plant garden or anywhere. I also have a 19 second video of it rubbing the rear of its wings for a reason that makes me curiously mystified. If you'd like to see it, let me know.
It hung out beneath a canopy of Common Milkweed leaves (Asclepias syriaca). The Milkweed is blooming.
I just read that this species uses mistletoe as a host plant. There are many in the old oaks and other tree species in my neighborhood including one next door!
