Description

Common forest tree - turkeyberry. The lumps and bumps (2nd photo) are very common - it is seldom one sees a specimen with a regular trunk; one of the characters by which the species is known. But this specimen has a burr in addition to the usual bumps and lumps.
Note - the leaves at right above the burr belong to the tree adjacent, not this one.
