89 degrees F, cloudy but no precipitation, and 4 mph winds. This organism was found in the middle of the basketball court in an apartment complex (urban). I believe this organism is a Florida Carpenter Ant. The most identifying features are the shades of the organism going from orange of its head and thorax to a black abdomen. The abdomen also appears to be fuzzy. This organism also has two antennae and six legs, similar to the Florida carpenter ant. Disclaimer: this organism is not dead as it was moving its legs upon observation. This organism is a protostome.
Still more lemon ants. I cannot get enough of these. They are relocating a failed ant-mimic, which appears to be one of these: https://www.inaturalist.org/observations/1997442
