Not sure if gulf coast or western
Was found right off the overlook area on the Pecos River Bridge. I found it, thanks to a couple of people pointing and yelling "Cascabel, Cascabel!" The snake was putting on a good show. Great picture of the epiglottis.
Approximately 3ft long, dead, by water! Any ID help would be welcome!
I think this is a Texas Blind Snake (Leptotyphlops dulcis) but need ID confirmation. I found about 6 of them while breaking up and removing very large rocks. They are about 6"-8" long and 1/4 inch in diameter. They are a brownish color top and light color (grey / silver bottom). There are three scales between the eyes.
