Rhaponticum coniferum, comúnmente llamada cuchara de pastor, es una especie de la familia Asteraceae (Compositae), ampliamente distribuida por la Península Ibérica y las Baleares.
Antes se nombraba como Leuzea conífera y en su origen, cuando fue descrita por Linneo como Centaurea conífera ,se le llama popularmente cuchara de pastor es una curiosa planta herbácea perenne, perteneciente a la familia Asteraceae, también es conocida con el nombre de “Piña de San Juan” (por su forma de piña y localizarse en la fecha de su santoral, el 24 de junio).
