The motivation to protect a portion of this as a reserve has been approved by the Stewardship Review Committee.
Only ±10ha is set aside for habitat conservation in the district of around 2006 square km. This should add another 10ha. [Excluding mountains which CapeNature manages].
The site, public land, was included in a 180ha urbanisation precinct proposal.
In a sense this a positive outcome of CNC 2022 when a substantial population of a CR plant sp. was confirmed.
