This well-preserved quartzite Madison point was crafted and used 1,100 -1,500 years ago during the Late Woodland - Early Mississippian cultural period by Lenni Lenape Native American tribesmen (authenticity confirmed and information provided by NJSM Archaeology Dept.). Discovered during a herpetological survey of a northern Pine Barrens outlier in Monroe Township, vicinity of Jamesburg, New Jersey.
