I love Street View! I was able to get the precise location based on that utility box.
A very small ground squirrel - I watched it run across the road before I was able to pull over and get the camera out. It is almost light enough to be X. tereticaudus but I was told this was mohavensis territory and since it was so small it seemed to fit.
Distinct musky smell on a wildlife run; some vertebrae in scat. Knife is about 3.5 inches long. Any other thoughts on species?
Brittlebush growing to the side of the path. One of many in the area. Unplanted. The last photo shows its location and surroundings.
