Mount Kobau, Okanagan Valley, BC, Canada
I was fortunate enough to have a trip out west and spotted these butterflies while walking at Lake Louise. I have never seen a butterfly like this in Quebec where I live...in fact I have never spotted any butterflies in Quebec this early in the season. This is my first observation for the Bimby project.

As compared to the second photo in Tim's post, the wear mark on the inner-most submarginal spot on the left hindwing matches, as does the small scratch in upper half of the large black patch on the left forewing. Still in quite good condition overall.
This was the only butterfly I saw today along 1.5km of the powerline trail (the weather was marginal). It was about 1km northwest of it's original location.
