Active dung hill
Has some sort of mutation, likely recessive genes showing a caramel colour, maybe similar to palomino in horses? A dilution? Not albino and doesn’t look leucistic

A black-shouldered kite was perched on a powerline eating a small mammal. It looked like the size of a rat. Assume it is a rodent of some kind but may be some kind of small marsupial as well. It looked grey and had a very long tail, especially as seen in pictures 4 and 5. It looks like it may have a very rat-like face and small round-ish ears in picture 2.
The kite was on Ash Island so its prey was most likely caught there or nearby. The island has many shallow pools of standing water surrounded by long grass and reeds. Mangrove and casuarina forests are also very common. The area around where the kite was perched is mostly shorter grass and open gravelly ground surrounding the ponds.
