While I was eating lunch outside in the guest house’s backyard, I found this fella!
While setting up the bee bowl sites for the day at Capulin Volcano National Monument, I found this fella!
This poor snake. Someone in our party spotted it, and then everyone was shouting, "Oooh, snake! Snake!" and for some reason it didn't go off into the grass and hide or disappear, though it had plenty of room. It kept moving parallel to the trail and poking its head up now and then like this and staring at us. We finally figured out that we were somehow in its way. Sure enough, the snake crossed the trail some distance behind us. It was like it wanted to cross the whole time, but we just didn't get the message.
