Found trying to cross road from creek side of road to uphill side of road.
74F at time of siting. Assisted crossing state route 193/ Georgetown road by intersection of beaver creek road dropped off in the direction in which it was headed
Headed towards down sloped roadside drainage with lots Himalayan blackberry/ oak tree habitat. Carapace was approx. 6 inches long(used length of palm of hand as quick ref). Will fill out CNDDB report at later time
Finally, after months of searching for this species at Coyote Creek Parkway, and eventually taking it for extirpated in this area because of the abundant Red-eared Sliders, I came across this male crossing Coyote Creek Trail.
It had two leeches hitch-hiking on its shell.
Found basking in shallow water with western toad, pacific chorus frog and foothill yellow-legged frog.
Usually see the native Westerns here but this wasn't a good observation
