Imaged are 3 different individuals. Their similarity (gourd-like) prompted me to group them.
The degree of cytoplasmic streaming was most vigorous in the 2 specimens with the longer "extensions". To view videos, see https://youtu.be/D3tdH9whJTw and https://youtu.be/n7b7cfWbyx8. Not sure what these might be, protist, germinating spores or ???.

  • A water sample was taken on 4/18/2023, from the shore of Avery Swamp impoundment, using a 10µ dip net to enrich for microbes. Air temp. 50°F.

Habitat: muddy water, squeezed out of the vernal pool at Allandale Woods
Photo taken with a Celestron PentaView Digital Microscope. According to their website, the FOV (i.e. the diagonal width) at 100× is 600 µm.

Not sure if this is an accurate ID. Still going through a lot of uncertainty with these. Grasping as straws really with some of these IDs. Catching on a bit but still hard to disunguish.
