At first, we saw the back of the the bird, with a black square tail and short bill and thought of Western Kingbird, then saw the front of the bird and the underparts were completely white like the underparts of Gray Kingbird / Eastern Kingbird. Bill and tail shape didn't fit the one of Gray Kingbird as this species would have a big bill and a forked tail. A pure Western Kingbird would have yellow underparts.
Unfortunately, we only had our cellphones to take pictures.
