Broad entire leaves encircle the stem and taper to a point. Panicle flower with round spikelets. Growing in clusters 2-3ft high. Habit: grassy field.
Common along a short stretch of trail at edge of precipice in the shade of the cloud forest near 1950 masl.
On an eastern hemlock (Tsuga canadensis). The tree is cultivated but the adelgid is definitely not.
