Collected along path of an open meadow in woody area, close to river, moist soil
Keeps lower dead limbs, bristle tips, false thorns from older twigs, hairless buds, U-shaped indents between lobes of leaf.
Habitat: Edge of a small woodland clearing. Area is dry and sandy soil

Bottom of tree keeps the dead branches attached
Cones are round and stay on the branches for a while
Needle bundles have three dark green rigid needles with no white tint
Bark is blocky with needles extending out of the trunk
