Description
A phragmocone of belemnite with the remains of rostrum was extracted from clay on the bank of a stream (07.05.22). A very fragile sample, fell apart in the hands into 3 parts. Now it is dried and soaked together with clay.
Age of the fossil: Mesozoic, Jurassic, Upper Jurassic, Volga (Titonian) stage.

Description
Growing on a large, fallen hardwood stump, possibly oak, in a mixed broadleaf and conifer forest in Lawrence County, Alabama, USA. Cap is golden-brown to brown with fine white hair or fuzz, especially near outer margin. Attached greyish-brown gills. Stipe is off-white, sometimes with a little brown. Dark brown spore print. White mycelium Nearby trees: primarily oaks, maple, big-leaf magnolia, hickory, pine and Eastern hemlock.
