Naturalised in a wooded stream valley close to the sea. Population of several hundred individual plants. Anthers yellow and filaments swollen. Not mentioned in the county flora or recorded for the vice county in the BSBI database.
Spotted on marram grass.
Scottish status for this species seems unclear. NBN gateway only has unconfirmed records in Scotland. The most recent review of the Tenebrionoidea of Great Britain for Natural England (done in 2014) lists this species as absent from Scotland. There's reference to records nearby in a paper from the Nature Conservancy Council in 1979.
If not new to the region, I suspect it hasn't been recorded here in some years.
