Only one previous observation of this species in NYC, a year prior in very nearly the exact same location.
Tentatively identifying as B. felina on grounds that it was small for a spurleg lady beetle and has much larger spots than most spurlegs I see.

ID tentative. iNat doesn't come up with this, but it seems to match better than iNat's suggestions.
Couldn't get great shots; it was determined to hide away in the leaf litter, and it succeeded nicely.

Found alongside ~30 others in a hemlock looper pheromone trap. Trap was out between August 9, 2016 and October 21, 2016. August 9th entered as date on iNat.
