Description
Heartbreaking to come across this recent roadkill of White-sided Jackrabbit in southwest New Mexico. Mortality from automobile strikes is, along with habitat loss, the main reason for their regional decline.

Confirmed ID and first state record for this species. Per Dennis Paulson It's a perfect match for a female Coryphaeschna adnexa, not old enough to have lost its cerci yet.

Description
Found this deceased in our front yard this morning. I believe it to be the North American Least Shrew. For size reference the ruler behind it is centimeters NOT INCHES.
As a side note, if this is determined to be a Least Shrew by those that know more than me, this is the 3rd one found on our property in the past 20 years..
