2013 nature photo journal. My young daughter and I were exploring the green space in our neighborhood and came across this Eastern Rat Snake coiled in the leaves. A large canvas of my bear photo hung in the BC Legislature. Our local MLA claimed it helped pursued the Premier to totally ban Grizzly Bear trophy hunting in BC. Keep shooting photos, they can make a difference !

This was probably the highlight of my fall Okefenokee paddle. I came around a bend and saw four juvie gators on the cypress and sphagnum. Not much further was a large gator, I assume mom. And over the next quarter mile I photographed a total of 15 juveniles. Several others plunged into the blackwater before a photo.

Please look at all the photos. I found some mysterious tracks in the ice and almost photographed them, thinking they must be tracks from where a deer walked when the ice on the pond was thin and broke through. But I didn't think it was worthwhile--until I found the deer! Well, the end of the deer. Frozen under the ice. It must have walked along, making these weird marks on the surface of the water, but then it fell through and drowned. RIP poor deer!
