Acrocarpous moss with hyaline awns found growing on sandy soil on north side of steep seasonal stream embankment. Collected a portion with permit for UCD. Leaves are about 2.7 mm in length, mid leaf cells are squarish and about 13 microns across and have complex papillae. Stem appears to have central strand. Keys tentative to this species.

These are on south-facing soils, typically seepy, mixed in together with Cephaloziella, Riccia, and Selaginella and Racomitrium. Sure looks like it's all Polytrichum to me but I'm terrible at this, and my microscopy on these things- they're so small- is awful.
