Viewed same time as the all- green sweat bee that looks like the Agaspostemon splendens or Brown-winged striped sweat bee.
First time to see this small red dragonfly. Cute, friendly, think it enjoyed this resting place mid day.
Larger bee, characteristics of a long-horn bee. Curled body while foraging, hairy head, body, striped abdomen. This one looks to have yellow-hairy legs, pollen on legs? On full blooms-Helenium, massive clump. Many other bees, flys, wasps present.
Good quiet day no breeze, to watch this medium size green bee. Attractive colour against the yellow bloom. Enlarging shows the lucky details! Yellow hairy legs, large oval eye with grey, shiny abdomen. Love this green bee.
My first ternarius
On Hypericum kalmianum

Augochlora?
Standing outdoors near the Monarda watching bees!! This flew straight to me, I saw its green head, wide ruby throat, good size up close!! Wonderfull experience.
Not sure this is a new bumble bee for me. Looks like stripes on back of the bum-2-3. It carried pollen and rested in shade to clean legs and underside. Yes first hot day in south garden. On purple alliums.
Or similar hellebore in friends garden. Blooming now with a bee hiding in the bloom for the evening.j
Just saw it jump back from the sun. Another grasshopper not seen before close by. Observed before the green one today. It is green camouflage against foliage. Makes an amazing pic. enlarged.
Yes it looks similar to the large Green Darner. This one is a beautifull bright green with black/white marks on tail. A good large size. Could be the female Eastern Pond Hawk! As in recent observations today July 9th.
Oh my gosh, so cute hugging the stamen on a crane'sbill geranium(xJohnson's Blue). Looks like sweat bee but has longer body curved inwards. Small head, eye looks black. Luck spotting with cell phone camera.
Enjoy these tiny blues- this female light colour with black dots, definite white fringe on hind wings, fine black margin, vivid dots same as photo in the ROM's Field Guide to butterflys of Ontario, pg. 212. Stood close to capture my treat.
More than one present today. Small but colourfull.
This bumble bee was larger than some others close by on the Anise Hyssop collecting nectar. Could be the Brown-belted or the Eastern Bumble bee? Similar looking especialy in this pose looking through the wing colour!!
I've looked this up with friends advise, etc. Acer freemanii or Freeman's Maple is a hybrid of parents Acer Rubrum and Acer Sacharinum or Red Maple crossed with Silver Maple. Autumn traits can include red to yellow foliage with 5 main pointed lobes and near straight base line. Could be the Autumn Blaze cultivar.
Good find today walking through Evergreen Brickworks along the paths to the ponds. Dogwoods with lovely berrys! Jewels of the summer growth help to identify this dogwood. Lots of birds present.
Admire these very tall yellow daisys our native brown eyed Susan's. Foliage looks different than the rudbeckia family.
White berrys, oh so red stemed panicles joining berrys to the bloom stems and branches. Branches are more grey, leaves are glacious, stiff and thick on the edges.
Oh glad to find this one. Not blooming now these are the seed heads. Different shape for a rudbeckia?
Oh the lovely small blue butterfly! Been watching so many small whites, yellow, butterflys this summer hoping to see these solid blue wings! Underside is a contrast in soft lt. grey, black dots cover wings with row of orange spots at side. Last blurred photo does show clear colouration, blue reverse on edges.
2nd 30 min survey
Captured one of a pair of bees collecting pollen. Flew into the bloom-no hands! So cute to watch it adapt to the bloom shape. Perennial Sweet Pea vine; bloom opens to pollen on one "style"- curved around the bee's back!
See these every summer. 2022- notice the wide hairy legs! Their size makes me stand back and the buzz! Not aggressive, just let it bee! Today caught it zoom into sweet pea- side view.
Wow, today there are so many of these busy bees!! With furrows, tiny stingless, etc. in garden on blooms. Never saw so many of same Striped Sweat bees at mine! Must be the season? Plus my organic practice.
Well, thought it was same as another id but look at those horns! Eyes are fasinating colours! Striped abdomen, gold hair on legs, thorax. A few of same bees seen with small furrow bees and tiny bees in a swarm. This one is male.
At least ten active in a small area.
Gardening to weed found these underneath monarda, daylilys, milkweed.
Beautiful❤️🌸
Spring photo 2019, all green Sweat Bee! Green bee with striped abdomen. There also Bi-Coloured Sweat bee on the purple Salvia blooms.
Seen as I was focused on the first bloom of bee balm with stem folded forwards.
Summer garden visitor. Saw them a few years, then absent.
A favorite that I used to see every few years.
Strong orange suggests perhaps P. melissa.
Male, bright blue above in flight.
Recently burned mountain slope, with lush new growth.
3 young robins born of blue eggs (3). Nest made in flowering shrub. They fledged a few days later.
Usually have many in the garden. This Veronica veronicastrum a great native plant for Bumble Bees.
2019 I had many all at once that had a distinct occure bull's eye on back of their heads! Will add later.
