Pair active on nest, female laid egg at bottom of chamber (assumed - couldn't see in but she was out of sight in the hole) and walked away leaving the male to refill the hole. Then when the mound was refilled the male boomed out to the four corners of the compass, then strolled away.

Una grata sorpresa poder inmortalizar a este individuo en el Parque Metropolitano de León. Los sonidos de alarma se dispararon entre patos, garzas y demás aves que estaban plácidamente alimentándose en la presa, pensé que era el Águila Pescadora, enfoco mi atención en el momento y de repente, entre los matorrales, viene a todo "galope"este hermoso Lince para intentar dar alcance a su presa. Todo fue tan rápido y emocionante, que solo puede realizar dos capturas con la cámara, sin embargo se pudo dar evidencia del
inusual registro.

En primer plano el Cormorán Neotropical y detrás Cormorán Orejón. En la foto son evidentes las características que los diferencian.
1.- Tamaño relativo más grande del Orejón
2.- Contorno posterior del saco gular, ángulo casi recto en Orejón, mientras ángulo agudo en el Neotropical.
3.- Lores cubiertos en el Neotropical y desnudos en el Orejón.

Somehow the corms knew when it was time to start diving. Right at the mouth of the creek the birds in the back dived deep while the 3 leaders kept going. You can see one cormorant in the middle of diving in this shot. Nice close up of the teal too.
