Penn Bird Strike Project May 4-May 9

Last week was a busy one for monitoring. At the Hill Pavilion bridge I found two Black-throated Blue Warblers, a male one day, and a female the next day. Thank you to Keith for helping to confirm the identify of the female, which I thought might have been an Ovenbird. There were also three Catbirds found at the Hill Pavilion bridge, and one Ovenbird on the Johnson Pavilion roof. There seems to be an ongoing explosion of Catbird casualties across campus, two have been found this week so far. Other finds have included a Woodcock, which was found at base of the west side of Harnwell House, a Common Yellowthroat found at Pottruck Gym, and a Wood Thrush at the Left Bank building.
