@lysandra Thank you for the additions. I just started the project last week while going over "Unknowns" and realized there were common threads that needed joining into a net
I appreciate the effort! Many biocrust observations are not research-grade, and I try to ID the ones I can. Thus, any effort to get more people improving IDs on here is great!
@bobmcd Thanks for the article on soil biofilms. It helped me understand the complexity and interaction of soils. I think I want to go observe soils more closely, both cryptobiotic soil but also other soils.
I have a question for those that have more knowledge of the topic than me, in particular @aroe@lysandra@marykrieger@maxmallencooper@brewbooks or anyone else for that matter. Someone has included an observation of Stromatolites to this project. I'm not sure this is the right fit but I would like some opinions. Part of this is, from my understanding, that both Stromatolites and Thrombolites are fossilized remains of organisms rather than living in the current time. Thank you

@lysandra
Thanks for that @marykrieger
This fully downloadable review may be of introductory interest to some: Soil biofilms: microbial interactions, challenges, and advanced techniques for ex-situ characterization @brewbooks
I had no idea there was a biocrust project on here, just added a bunch of observations from the US and Canada.

I just upgraded the cover and icon photos with a couple that I had. Let me know if you feel these to not quite fit. @brewbooks @maxmallencooper
