Happy New Year !!!

2024 is already off to a great start as we just passed our 10,000th sighting! Fantastic job everyone!
I wish everyone a wonderful, beetle-full 2024:)

We live on a property 200m x 600m that includes Scribbly gum, Melaleuca wetlands, Blue Gum flats & subtropical lowland rainforests ecosystems.
When we lived on the creek flats (1978 -2006), Cicadas and Christmas Beetles were prolific during Christmas/New Year.
We could not hear ourselves think and we were inundated with Christmas Beetles.
Since we have lived at the front of our property from 2013 (Scribbly Gum on sandstone coastal ridges - the cicadas are smaller and quieter and Christmas Beetles are fewer.
