Welcome to the Fall 2022 Edition of the DUC Migration Tracker!

Across Canada, birds of every feather are beginning their migration journeys. Celebrate fall migration with Ducks Unlimited Canada (DUC) by participating in this migration observation project!

We want to know what birds you see, and where you see them, during the migration season. Your observations provide valuable data to help inform our wetland conservation efforts.

We want to see your bloopers, too!

As dedicated birders and wildlife photographers, we would wager you have at least a few pictures of birds that you probably would never post here, but that make you laugh. We’re talking Marilyn Monroe feather moments, miscalculated landings, poorly timed blinks, a slightly-too-big-to-swallow fish, you name it. We want to see those pictures!

Submit up to five of your favourite migration outtake images to us and we’ll enter you into a draw for one of three DUC-branded YETI water bottles.

Additionally, if you’re looking to up your bird watching and bird photography game this migration season, iNaturalist Canada is hosting a free webinar on that very subject this week!

Kyle Blaney will present how factors such as size, shape, seasonality, habitat, and field marks can help identify birds and will provide tips and tricks that can lead to better bird photos.

The webinar will be held on September 27th at 12:00pm Eastern Time
