Peter G. Werner. Currently a specialist in microscopy, but my academic background is in mycology, specifically fungal taxonomy and ecology, and I did graduate work surveying the Psilocybe and Strophariaceae species of California. However, I have also studied botany and entomology and maintain an active interest in those organisms. More recently, via microscopy, I've gotten into microbial life of all kinds, and am on a strong learning curve with microbe ID. I'm particularly interested in protozoans, microalgae (particularly diatoms), and microfungi.

I have lived in California for most of my life, and the majority of my observations are from there. However, I am currently in the process of relocating to Galway, Ireland to pursue and advanced degree (MSc, Microscopy, NUI Galway), so many observations of the biodiversity of the west of Ireland will be forthcoming.
