I am a professional arachnologist and research taxonomist specialising in the systematics of spiders of the infraorder Mygalomorphae. I also have research interests in the taxonomy and systematics of spiders from the Mid Atlantic islands, historical nomenclature of spiders more broadly, and in museum specimen curation, digitisation, preservation and restoration. I hold appointments at the Natural History Museum, London (Voluntary Assistant Curator of Arachnida), Arachnology Research Association (Research Associate), IUCN SSC Mid Atlantic Islands Invertebrate Specialist Group (Research Associate) and Fundación Ariguanabo (Foreign Associate). I also serve the arachnological community in several other roles in the following organisations: International Society of Arachnology (Council Member), World Spider Catalog (United Kingdom Coordinator), British Arachnological Society (Newsletter Editor, Officer, and Trustee) and Araneae: Spiders of Europe (Member of the Expert Board).
