I am an Assistant Professor of Biological Sciences at The University of Alabama in Huntsville in Huntsville, Alabama. I like to wear the hats of an ecologist, conservation biologist, and naturalist. My research focuses on subterranean life, with an emphasis on salamanders, fishes, and several invertebrate groups, such as crayfishes, shrimps, beetles, amphipods, and more. I am an avid nature and wildlife photographer and enjoying photographing all critters.

I have published over 120 journal articles, book chapters, conference proceedings, and technical reports, as well as coauthoring a few books: The Amphibians of Tennessee, Reptiles of Tennessee, Cave Life of TAG: A Guide to Commonly Encountered Species in Tennessee, Alabama, and Georgia, Cave Life of the Ozarks: A Guide to Commonly Encountered Species in Arkansas, Missouri, and Oklahoma.
