Third Nature Walk

For my third nature walk, I chose to walk around the BC campus. It was sunny out, with a temperature of around 55 degrees. All of my observations were plants. I was interested to see how smaller plants such as these would look after days of wet, muddy earth and little sun. To my surprise, the plants seemed very healthy regardless of the unbalanced sunlight to water ratio. Some of the plants were even in the process of producing flowers.

Second Nature Walk

For my second nature walk, I observed various plants and fungi along a trail outside of the Chestnut Hill Reservoir. It was cloudy outside with light rain. It was around 60 degrees. The majority of the mushrooms were found at the base of the hill, whereas the plants were found higher up the hill. I noticed that at the top of the hill, very few plants or fungi grew. I believe that altitude plays a role in plant/fungus reproduction on this hill.

First Nature Walk

I observed these plants around a short walking trail outside of my college campus. It was mostly sunny outside and around 60 degrees. All five plants were found under trees, which blocked most direct sunlight. The five plants were also centralized around different points on the trail. None of the five were found in proximity of the other.
