We were driving along 17 Mile Drive, when I spotted this along the beach. I have no idea what species of shark it could be, so I am posting the pictures here in hopes of learning it’s identity.
Collected from FRV Kapala midwater trawl: station K77-24-11; seabed depth 2470-2560 m, capture depth 0-640 m. (AMS specimen I.20315-038).

Unfortunately, the video I thought I took and that I would get screengrabs from didn't record until after I thought I was done recording🙄. So here's what I have😔.
Empty carcass approx. 8' long.
The markings on the head are where there were holes nearly 1" across.
Close-up of the skin appear to be denticles.
Sleeper shark is a guess.
