Found in my backyard. Weather conditions: 83 degrees Fahrenheit (28.33 degrees Celsius) and well after sunset. Habitat conditions: urban. No observed environmental interaction it was just sitting on our grill. Having grown up hearing cicadas and seeing their exoskeletons or entire bodies, I knew what the specimen was, I just needed to determine specifically what kind of cicada it was. I initially thought it looked like the Resonant Cicada, but another user proposed that it was a Saltmarsh Cicada. This suggestion makes more sense as the coloration of the specimen more closely resembles the darker colors of the Saltmarsh Cicada.
I think it's either M. resonans or M. figuratus. The black anterior-most basal wing cell shown in the second photo makes me think it's M. figuratus, but I'm not sure.
