ID suggested by iNat. Looks like a good match. @aliandbrice saw a very similar looking beetle near Sarasota a few days ago, which seems to be the first iNat observation of this genus in Florida. Funny coincidence...

Regarding the location, I noticed this lady beetle on my bicycle bag just as I was walking into my apartment. I think there's a chance it climbed onto my bike while I was doing a quick bioblitz of a couple vacant lots on SW 82nd avenue near SW 20th st

Fungus growing from multiple points on this Blister Beetle (Meloidae) spell its certain doom. It was still quite active and capable of flying, as it appeared at a black light setup in a pocket of palo verde trees within the Imperial Dunes.

I was thinking this is Rosemary, but maybe not quite right. It was growing "wild" in the canyon.
