I took these photos of a young grey nurse shark, I saw it in bushrangers bay Shellharbour. The rope had obviously been there a long time, cutting into its skin. Heart breaking. I only heard of one other person seeing it and then didn't see it again. It favoured one side when swimming and did not move its caudal fin normally.

Young observed being born in seagrass beds exposed by low tide in Venus Bay. Young detected by their presence at the waters surface as they seemed to be tangled in exposed seagrass. Adult rays had flattened an area within the seagrass. Observation made by L. van Weenen. Blue container is a 4 litre ice cream container.

Photos taken on a tour given by the Roatan Institute of Deepsea Exploration. Photos from the 26th are during a night dive, the 27th are from the day. Unless otherwise noted, photos taken at somewhere around 1000-1200 feet deep. Location somewhat approximate.
The (guide? pilot?) told us the names of a lot of these fish, but I either didn't properly hear or failed to note down most of them.

On being exposed to the light, flared its dorsal fin and turned its mirrored flank towards the sub, angling its body to keep the mirror pointed at us at all times. Camouflage attempt?
